A client's hair went from straw to silk in three months

She came in with hair so dry it felt like straw after years of box dye. We switched her to a weekly protein mask and a water filter for her shower. Has anyone else seen this kind of turnaround just from changing a client's home water?

Honestly, the water filter is a game changer for hard water buildup, but I wonder if the protein mask was the real hero. If her hair was that damaged, it might have been porous and soaking up everything, good and bad. The filter stopped new mineral gunk, letting the repair actually stick.

Betadine in the water filter can strip protein out so fast it negates whole treatments.

Oh totally, it's BOTH things working together. I had a client with the same straw hair from hard water, and the filter stopped the daily damage so the weekly treatments could actually DO their job. It was like trying to fix a leaky boat while someone was still pouring water in. Once we got her a shower filter, the deep conditioners finally made a difference she could feel.
