A simple trick for keeping foils from slipping on damp sections
I was getting so frustrated with foils sliding around on slightly damp hair during a recent balayage. I started placing a small piece of that non-slip mesh shelf liner, cut into strips, under the foil before folding it. It grips the hair perfectly and doesn't leave any marks. Has anyone found another good method for this?

Oh man, that's such a clever fix! I actually just read somewhere that some stylists use those adhesive grippy strips meant for cabinet drawers, cut really thin, to hold foils in place on damp hair. Haven't tried it myself, but your mesh liner idea sounds way easier to find at the store. How long do the strips last before they lose their stick?

Oh wow, that's actually brilliant. I always thought you just had to deal with the slip or use more product, but that mesh liner idea is a game changer. I'm definitely trying that next time my sections are even a little damp.

Wait, you're doing balayage on damp hair? I've always been taught that you have to have it completely dry for the color to take right and not get patchy. Even a little dampness can mess with the developer. Are you using a special kind of color or something?
