Bought a $300 hot towel cabinet and it was a total game changer
Back when I started, we used a crockpot for hot towels. It was fine, but messy and you could only do a few at a time. I finally bit the bullet and got a proper cabinet about five years ago. It holds a stack of towels, keeps them at a perfect, steady heat, and looks way more professional on the station. The initial cost stung, but it paid for itself in how much faster I could move through a shave or a facial. Clients notice the difference too, they always comment on how good it feels. Now I see the new kids with their fancy steamers and I just smile. Anyone else have an old piece of gear they still swear by?

Actually, a steamer is for a different thing, it's not really a newer version of a towel cabinet. They do different jobs.

Ugh, thank you. I was reading that and felt like I was taking crazy pills. It's like saying a microwave is just a newer toaster. They both heat food, but you're not gonna toast bread in a microwave. A steamer gets wrinkles out of clothes, a cabinet just holds warm towels. Totally different tools.
