I laughed at the keratin treatment trend until I tried it on my own frizz

Last month a client swore a keratin treatment would fix her humidity frizz and I rolled my eyes hard. I've been doing this for 8 years in Miami and I always thought those treatments were just expensive flat iron jobs. But she brought in her own kit and asked me to apply it, so I figured why not. After the first wash I was shocked, her hair stayed smooth through a full beach day and a rainstorm. I was so impressed I booked myself for a treatment the next week at a salon in Coral Gables. My own frizz has been gone for 3 weeks now and I still can't believe I waited this long. Has anyone else had a product or service they mocked for years that actually turned out legit? What convinced you?
