My aunt who cuts hair out of her basement told me to use mayo as a deep conditioner and I walked around with hair that smelled like a deli sandwich for a week.
She swore it would make my highlights look salon fresh, but all it did was leave me with greasy roots and a craving for rye bread, has anyone else been given a home remedy that backfired this badly?

Three days later my coworker asked if I was hiding a hoagie in my purse. Ngl the worst part was my cat kept trying to lick my head for a solid week like I was a walking snack. Honestly the mayo just sat there doing nothing but making me smell like a Subway bathroom. Tbh I think that aunt just wanted me to bring her free lunch ingredients.

Oh man, I used to think home remedies were always better than store bought stuff, but this story totally flipped my view. I've heard the mayo thing before and legit considered trying it after a bad dye job, but now I'm glad I never went through with it. Thanks for taking one for the team, I'll stick to my regular conditioner from now on lol.
