Rant: The whole "less is more" trend in haircuts is overdone
Had a client last month, a guy named Dave who comes in every 6 weeks for the same scissor cut. He asked me to do that "textured, lived-in" look everyone loves. I told him no, a blunt cut works better for his hair type. He insisted, I did it, and he came back a week later saying it looked messy and uneven. Has anyone else had clients want a trend that just doesn't fit their hair?

Oh gosh yes, it's like every client suddenly wants the same haircut even if it does absolutely nothing for their face shape or hair type, total pet peeve.

Oh man, that's so spot on. It's like how everyone thinks they need those big farmhouse signs with cheesy sayings for their living room, even if their place is a tiny apartment. People just grab at trends without thinking if they actually make sense for their own space or face.

Huh, is it really that big of a deal? I mean yeah people follow trends but it's not like they're hurting anyone by putting a sign up in their apartment that says "gather" or whatever. Maybe they just like the way it looks even if it's a little too big for the wall. Life's too short to stress about someone else's decor choices.
