The way a client described her hair texture changed my whole consult process
This lady came in last Tuesday for a gloss and said her hair 'feels like wet wool when it rains'. I've heard a million texture descriptions but that one stuck. I realized I was asking the wrong questions all along, like 'damage level' instead of how it actually behaves day to day. Now I start every consult with 'how does your hair annoy you this week?' and the answers are way more useful. Anyone else got a specific question that unlocked better conversations with clients?

Switching to "what's your hair's biggest daily struggle" got me way more real answers than asking about damage or routine. People open up about frizz, cowlicks, even how it smells after gym class, and that tells me exactly what products to reach for.
