Took me 6 months to realize my brushes were the problem with streaky foundation
I spent forever blaming my technique and even switched products, but it was just old, clogged brushes the whole time. Has anyone else dealt with a stupid simple fix that wasted way too much of your time?

Call me crazy but is it really that deep? I mean yeah clogged brushes can mess with your application a bit but six months of streaky foundation sounds like maybe there was other stuff going on too. Like maybe the primer or moisturizer you were using was causing pilling or your skin texture changed with the seasons. Brushes get gunky pretty fast if you're not cleaning them weekly but I've gone longer than that and still got decent results with a quick spritz of setting spray to blend things out. Just seems like a lot of time to pin on bristles alone.

You know, I've been thinking the same thing, David. I had a similar stretch where my foundation looked off for months and I was ready to blame my brushes too. But then I realized my moisturizer had changed and it was pilling up, not to mention my skin got drier in winter so the foundation just sat on top. A good deep clean of the brush helped a little, but switching back to my old moisturizer made way more of a difference than scrubbing bristles ever did.
