A retired operator in Bakersfield told me my load chart was slowing me down
He said I was reading the whole chart on every pick instead of marking my three most common radii with a grease pencil upfront (17 years on a 60 ton and he never flipped a page mid-lift), so has anyone else tried trimming their chart time like that or is it just asking for trouble?
Man, labeling your chart is fine but the real question is whether you can even see those marks at 6am with dew on the plexiglass. Paper charts and grease pencils don't warn you when you're about to tip, that gut check still has to come from your head.
