That 'universal' rigging chart app cost me a full day's pay
I grabbed a cheap app that promised to calculate all my rigging loads on the fly. It messed up a simple 2-ton lift calculation by 15 percent, which meant we had to stop everything and re-check with the manual charts. That delay cost our crew about $800 in lost time, which came out of my pocket. Anyone else run into bad software that seemed good at first?

Yeah, that "on the fly" promise is what gets you. I used to trust those quick apps until a similar mistake made me go back to the book every time.

On the fly" usually means "into the trash" for me too. The book never needs an update to fix its bugs.
