Debate: Do you crank it up for the nostalgia factor or just pure sound quality?

My buddy Steve argued last week that blasting 'Bohemian Rhapsody' at full volume is all about the memories it brings back, but I think my car speakers handling those high notes without distortion matters more, so which side are you on?

My old car had a blown speaker that hissed during Fleetwood Mac for years. @patriciap52 that equalizer tip might save my next road trip.

My last car had a tweeter that sounded like a dying mosquito every time I tried to play anything above mid volume. So I gave up and just listened to podcasts for two years. Now I got a decent system with a subwoofer that rattles my fillings loose, and I play the same five pop punk albums from 2004 on repeat. Pure nostalgia fuel with zero crackling, feels like a miracle.

Man, I've been there with my old car stereo and a scratched up mix CD from high school. For me, it's always been about the sound quality first, because nothing kills the vibe faster than your speakers crackling on the big chorus. But what I ended up doing was finding a middle ground. I got a decent equalizer app on my phone and tweaked the settings so my favorite nostalgic tracks sound clear even when I turn them up. So now I can blast those old songs and actually hear every part of them without the distortion ruining the memory.
