Factory subs vs upgraded aftermarket, the bass difference is night and day
I swapped the stock sub in my 2018 Civic for a $150 Alpine unit last month and kept everything else the same. The factory one sounded like a wet cardboard box at volume 20, while the Alpine actually hits clean at 30 with the windows down. Has anyone else made that jump and noticed the highs start to hurt before the low end gives out?

Notice how most stock stuff works fine until you push it past 50% and then it just gives up. Same thing with phone speakers, earbuds, even the AC in my apartment. Manufacturers put in the cheapest part that passes a test, not the one that actually sounds good. Once you hear the difference, you cant unhear it, and then every stock system just sounds broken to you.
