Had a chat with a dude at a red light about blasting heavy metal
I was sitting at a stoplight on Broad Street last Tuesday with Slayer cranked to 11, and this guy in the next car rolled down his window to tell me he used to do the same but his wife made him turn it down. Made me wonder how many people out there have surrendered their go-to car anthem to someone else's taste. What's the one song you refuse to lower the volume on even with passengers?

Broad and 3rd Street, I had the same thing happen with "Ace of Spades" by Motörhead. I just told the passenger to deal with it because sometimes you need Lemmy's growl to cut through the traffic noise. @perez.patricia I get your point about "Walk" being a basic pick but there's something about that groove that hooks people who don't even listen to metal.

Hell yeah. Pantera's "Walk" stays loud whether they like it or not.

@hart.mark you're really gonna go with that old chestnut? "Walk" is fine but it's the most basic Pantera pick out there. It's like saying "Enter Sandman" is the best Metallica song. Yeah it's the one everyone knows but it's not even top 5 on that album, "Fucking Hostile" or "Mouth For War" hit way harder. And honestly Phil's screaming in that era has aged weirdly compared to when they were more thrashy. I respect the nostalgia but that song is the closest thing to a dad rock anthem they ever made.
