Hot take: I ripped out my back seat so my sub hits harder, and my girl in Dallas won't ride with me now
So about 5 months ago I noticed my 12 inch sub sounded muddy once I got above volume 28 in my truck. I messed with the EQ for weeks and nothing helped. A guy at a car audio shop off Maple Ave in Dallas told me the back seat foam was eating all my sound. I pulled the whole rear bench out in my driveway and mounted the box right against the cab wall. Honestly the bass hit so much cleaner and louder that I was grinning like an idiot on the first drive. But now anyone in the back is basically sitting on bare metal, and my girlfriend said and I quote "this is not a car, it is a speaker with wheels." Tbh I think it was worth it. Has anyone else yanked seats or trim to get better sound, or am I the only one living like this?
