My brother's highway bass advice saved my left ear last Tuesday
He told me to pull over and turn down the sub before a 40 mile stretch of rough pavement and the rattle at 85 mph was so violent it shook my mirror loose, so has anyone else had a song that works great at stoplights but falls apart at speed?

That "shook my mirror loose" part is what got me. People don't realize how violent that bass can get at speed. I've got one track with a heavy 808 drop that's perfect at a red light, but once I hit 70 it turns into a muddy mess. The low end just gets swallowed up by road noise and wind. My brother actually set my crossover higher for highway driving and it made a huge difference. Still sounds like garbage on certain stretches though, so I just stick to podcasts for long trips now.
