That "loud exhaust" fix took 3 afternoons just to find a bad ground wire
Swapped out my whole stereo system in the F-150 thinking I needed more power to get that perfect windows-down blast track. Turns out the alternator whine I was chasing was just a loose ground behind the dash. 12 bucks in wire and 45 minutes of my life woulda saved me like 8 hours of wrenching if I'd checked first. Anyone else waste a whole weekend on something that simple?

Oh man, been there for sure. I spent a whole Saturday chasing a weird pop in my speakers, swapped out the head unit, rewired the whole door, turns out it was just a friggin' loose RCA cable in the back. I mean, I felt so dumb. Now my rule is, before I even think about buying new gear, I go over every connection with a flashlight and tighten everything down. Saved my butt a few times since then, honestly.
