Found my roommate's mold collection under the sink

Last Tuesday I smelled something awful in my apartment in Brooklyn. Opened the cabinet under the kitchen sink. Found a Tupperware container full of fuzzy green mold. My roommate was growing it for a science experiment but forgot about it. I threw it out and bleached the whole cabinet. She got mad and said I ruined her project. Who keeps mold in a shared kitchen without telling anyone?

Read somewhere that mold spores can actually get into your lungs and cause issues. @amy154 definitely had the right idea.

lol that reminds me of the time my old roommate decided to start a kombucha SCOBY hotel in the pantry and then left for a month long trip without mentioning it. came home to this weird jiggly mushroom blob that had basically taken over a whole shelf. I didn't even know what to do so I just threw the whole thing in the trash and opened every window in the apartment. she got super defensive too like I had murdered her precious culture or something. but honestly who keeps science experiments in shared spaces without a heads up first. your roommate's lucky you didn't call the health department tbh.
