My own mom thought I was mad at her for like two weeks straight because I never answered when she knocked. Turns out I just had headphones on and was blasting a podcast at full volume like an idiot. Meanwhile she's standing there thinking I'm giving her the silent treatment. Now we just text each other from across the house, which feels dumb but honestly works great.
