That $40 white noise machine actually saved my lease

My roommate started blasting death metal at 7am to "get pumped" and I was about to snap, so I grabbed a cheap white noise machine off Amazon. Two weeks in, I sleep through everything except the smoke alarm, has anyone else thrown money at a noise problem and had it actually work?

so you basically paid 40 bucks to not commit a crime, thats honestly cheaper than bail and way less paperwork. I tried the same thing when my neighbor decided 6am was the perfect time to learn the trumpet, except my cheap machine sounded like a dying robot with asthma and made everything worse. ended up cranking it to max volume and blasting that static right back at them through the wall, which somehow worked better than the actual sleep function. now we just have a silent standoff where neither of us makes noise, like two cowboys in a library. but yeah, money well spent if it keeps you from becoming a headline, so congrats on not being in jail today.
