Took 6 weeks to get my roommate to admit he broke the shower caddy

He left the whole thing on the floor with a note that said 'it fell.' I found the exact model online for $14 and showed him the receipt, he finally confessed after his brother visited and ratted him out. Has anyone else had to play detective just to get a basic apology?
