Update: I swore off ever living with a couple again until my coworker Dana said one thing at lunch
For 3 months I lived with a couple in Tucson who fought through the wall every night and made me the middleman for their dishes situation. I told Dana at lunch I was done with couples forever, and she said she lives with a married pair and it works because all 3 of them split rent by income, not evenly, so nobody keeps score. That hit different because my old roommates split everything 50/50 and it turned into a running scoreboard. Does splitting by income really cut the weirdness, or does it just move the fight somewhere else?
