Vent: I finally figured out why my roommate's dishes always smelled like sour milk
For six months I blamed her for not rinsing properly, then last Tuesday I caught myself scrubbing a pan with the same sponge I'd been leaving in a puddle of water on the counter. Turns out I was the one growing the bacteria this whole time. Has anyone else had that gross sponge realization?

Hold the sponge up to your nose next time you're about to use it. If it smells like a wet dog that's been dead for three days, don't scrub your dishes with it. I started microwaving my sponge for 30 seconds every night and the sour smell disappeared completely. Just gotta make sure it's wet before you nuke it or you'll set your kitchen on fire. That simple trick saved me from being the gross roommate for once.

Switched to those textured scrubber sponges that don't hold water and they never get that smell, plus they last way longer than regular sponges. Changed my whole Kitchen setup honestly.
