Hit 100,000 words on my novel draft yesterday
I was just tracking word count for fun and got to 100,042 words. That number matters because it's way past my usual 50,000 word stopping point where I give up. Has anyone else hit a surprising milestone that kept them writing?

Oh man, I totally get that. Hitting a number you've never reached before feels like cracking a code you didn't even know existed. For me it was 30,000 words on my second draft, I always quit around 20k. That little win kept me going through the boring middle bits when I wanted to delete everything. It's wild how a random word count can be the thing that actually keeps your butt in the chair. Congrats on pushing past your usual wall, that's a real victory.

30,000 words on a second draft? That's like climbing Everest in flip-flops.

Hold on @piper_reed, I think you meant 40k words, not 30k, right?
