I finally filled a whole notebook with story ideas

A year ago, my ideas were just random notes on my phone that I never looked at again. Then I bought a cheap spiral notebook from the drugstore and started writing one prompt per page. I hit the last page yesterday. Having them all in one place makes me actually want to write them. What's your favorite way to keep track of prompts so you don't lose them?

A whole notebook? That's wild. I can't even finish a pack of sticky notes before losing them. You must have like a hundred ideas in there. My phone notes are a mess of half sentences I can't even read later. The discipline to use one page per prompt is actually kind of amazing.

Start by grabbing a pen you actually like writing with, makes a bigger difference than you'd think. The one page per prompt trick works because it forces your brain to fully commit to an idea before moving on. Try just using the back of junk mail envelopes for a week, you'll build the habit without the pressure of a nice notebook.

The physical act of writing on paper can actually help ideas stick in your memory better than typing. It forces you to slow down and process the thought fully. Maybe the lost sticky notes are a sign your brain doesn't take the digital note seriously?
