Back in 2018 I'd just use the same password everywhere, now I have a manager with over 300 unique ones.

Switched after reading about a local business breach in Austin that started with one reused password. Do you think password managers are the best way forward, or is there a simpler method you trust more?

Honestly, I still write my main passwords down in a little paper notebook I keep in my desk. That manager with 300 logins sounds like a single point of failure to me. What if the company gets hacked or your master password gets keylogged? My grandma has used the same simple password for her email and farmville for 15 years and nothing bad has ever happened. Sometimes I feel like we're making this way too hard.

Honestly, the whole password thing makes me miss the old days. I had this one password for everything, a mix of my first pet's name and my high school graduation year. It got into my Neopets account, my email, everything. Then one day my old Runescape account got cleaned out and that was it. Felt like losing a piece of my childhood over some digital gold.

Remember that old Runescape scam where people would "trim your armor" for free? @caseyc78, I fell for that so hard in middle school, lost my full mithril set. Taught me to be suspicious of anything online way before the password hacks started.
