Bad week taught me to stop trusting public Wi-Fi for banking

Last Tuesday at a coffee shop in Austin, I logged into my bank app on their free network and got a fraud alert within 10 minutes, someone tried to move $800 out of my savings. The shop had no password on the router and I checked my phone, there were three networks with similar names. Has anyone else had a close call like this, or do you all avoid financial apps on open Wi-Fi entirely?

Yep, that's how scammers get everyone these days. People trust anything free.
