Bought a $50 YubiKey after my account got hacked

I lost access to my email two months ago because I was using SMS for 2FA. Someone cloned my SIM and got in before I could stop it. I dropped $50 on a YubiKey and it's way more secure since it uses physical touch instead of text codes. Has anyone else switched from SMS to hardware keys?

Do you ever worry about losing the YubiKey itself though? I had the same thought after switching, so I bought two and keep one in a drawer at home. The physical touch thing is way better than SMS, I agree, because hackers can't just sit in another country and guess a token you have to physically push. It feels more like having a real key for your door than a code that can be stolen.
