Can't believe how much juice my constant virus scans are using

I set my antivirus to scan daily, and now my energy monitor is flashing red every time. It's frustrating that staying safe online has such a big environmental cost. Does anyone know of lighter security software that doesn't drain power? Lmao, this is a mess.

Ugh I ran into this same thing last month lol. I switched my scans to weekly instead of daily and it cut the power drain in half honestly. Also check if you're running Windows Defender alongside another antivirus, because that doubles up for no reason. The built in stuff is way lighter than most third party programs now.

Wait, you're scanning daily too? I had to cut mine back to weekly because my laptop fan sounded like a jet engine. Did you check if you have two antivirus programs running at once?
