Hit 2FA milestone at 50 and finally changed my tune on password managers
After refusing for years because I thought they were overkill, I hit 50 saved logins across my personal accounts last month and realized I couldn't keep up with unique passwords, so I signed up for Bitwarden and now I'm wondering who else made the switch only after a number like that forced their hand?
Fifty is about where the math stops working against you. Every site wants a special character and a number and no repeats from the last five passwords, and your brain just cannot hold that many at once. So you start reusing a couple, then a few more, and next thing you know one breach leaks your whole life. Bitwarden was a smart call too, the free tier does plenty for most people. Good luck remembering the one master password though, that part never gets easier.
