Feel for you on this one. I did the same thing last year when I turned on two step and then lost the phone with the codes on it. Went almost three days with no email and it was pure stress, especially since half my logins send codes to that address. Glad you found a way back in, those recovery settings can really bite you if you forget what you set up.
