Pro tip: My Gmail got hijacked last Tuesday at a coffee shop in Portland
I was sitting at Stumptown on Division Street working on some client docs. Noticed my sent folder had a bunch of weird emails I didn't write. Someone got into my account through a public Wi-Fi sniffer. I panicked for a solid five minutes. Changed my password immediately and enabled two-factor auth right there on my phone. Checked my email forwarding settings too. Found they set up a rule to auto-forward everything to some random address. Deleted that and ran a full antivirus scan on my laptop after I got home. Has anyone else had a similar scare with public networks?

Yeah that same forwarding trick got me too. Scary stuff.

That forwarding rule thing is honestly the worst part, brian_ramirez is dead right about that. I spent like an hour changing passwords and didn't even think to check filters until I saw someone else mention it online.

Yeah @brian_ramirez hit the nail on the head with that forwarding rule... it's the sneakiest part since most people wouldn't even think to check their filters after a password change.
