Vent: I used to just click 'remind me later' on software updates for weeks
My old laptop got hit with ransomware after I ignored a security patch for about 45 days. I finally set my new machine to auto-update everything overnight. The difference is night and day. I haven't had a single security alert pop up in the three months since I switched. It's one less thing to worry about and it keeps everything patched against new threats. Does anyone else have a set schedule or tool they use to make sure updates actually happen?

Oof, that's rough. Auto-updates are a lifesaver for exactly that reason. I learned the hard way too, now everything just runs overnight.

Yeah, that "remind me later" button is dangerous.

But honestly, how bad can it be? I hit that button for days and my phone still works fine. It's just a software update, not like skipping a car oil change.
