Why does everyone keep using the same password for everything?
I just helped my buddy check his accounts after he got locked out of his email last week. Turned out he used "Fencing2020" for his banking, his Netflix, and his work login. When I asked why, he said it was easier to remember. I bet half the people on this forum probably have a similar habit without realizing how bad it is. Has anyone else had to convince a friend to change their passwords after a scare like that?

Yeah actually "Fencing2020" is still way better than what most people do though lol. Like at least it has a number and a capital letter. I had to explain to my cousin that using "Password1" for everything isn't great but also pointing out that she shouldn't reuse the same password at all, not even the strong ones. It's wild how people think a semi decent password is fine as long as they reuse it everywhere until something breaks.

The "semi decent password is fine" mindset is exactly how people end up with their email getting sold to spammers. What gets me though is how nobody talks about password managers. My cousin got mad at me for suggesting one, said it's "too complicated." Then she forgot her Netflix password three times in a week.
