A baker at a community center in 2017 told me I was kneading way too rough

She said I was beating the dough like it owed me money and to use my fingertips instead of my palms. Has anyone else had a random stranger change a habit you'd been doing wrong for years?

Wait, was she watching you from across the room or did she just walk up and give unsolicited advice? That's wild, I had a guy at a laundromat tell me I was folding my shirts wrong and he showed me his method with the cardboard from a pizza box. I was just trying to get my laundry done and suddenly I'm learning origami for t-shirts from a stranger who smelled like dryer sheets and old coffee. I still fold my shirts that way sometimes, it actually works better but I feel like a dummy for taking advice from a random dude at a laundromat. Your baker lady sounds like she had strong opinions about dough, which is fair because bread is serious business if you're making it for a community center.

Haha, I totally take folding advice from strangers now too, it's my secret shame.
