Back when I hand nailed every subfloor, now I can't live without my screw gun
I used to lay 3/4 plywood with a hammer and ring shanks for 12 years, took forever and my wrist started locking up last spring on a job in Portland. Switched to collated screws and a battery gun for the last two houses, and it's honestly night and day for speed, but I still second guess the holding power on squeak-prone floors. Anyone else make a similar tool switch later in their trade and wonder if you're cutting corners, or is it just progress?
