Bought a $12 windshield sun shade and my car is actually survivable now
After 4 summers of roasting my steering wheel in the Phoenix sun, I finally grabbed one of those accordion sun shades from the auto parts store on Monday. First morning commute, the dash was cool enough to touch, which has literally never happened in July here. I even tested it at noon when the pavement was reading 118 degrees and it cut the interior temp by maybe 15, still hot but not punishing. Now I'm wondering why I waited so long when the thing cost less than two iced coffees. Has anyone else found a cheap fix that made a huge difference in their daily grind?

Did you notice any difference in how fast the AC cools the cabin after that 15-degree drop?

Ha! Yeah, right. It's like the AC system had a personal grudge against me and finally decided to show mercy. Before, I'd be sweating through my shirt for a solid 10 minutes just waiting for a hint of cool air. Now it's maybe 3 minutes and my dog stops panting in my face, so I call that a win.
