Can we talk about the guy who told me to pour bleach on my driveway moss?

My neighbor Bob swore pouring straight bleach on the moss would kill it for good, but after 3 days all I had was a white stain and the moss growing back thicker. Meanwhile my brother says just use a power washer and skip the chemicals, which one actually works and has anyone else been burned by bad home fix advice?

Wait, you're saying the moss grew back thicker after the bleach? Did Bob warn you about that at all or did he just tell you to pour and pray?

LOL yeah Bob is the kind of guy who gives advice like it's gospel but has no clue what he's talking about. Bleach doesn't actually kill moss roots, it just burns the top layer off and then the roots come back stronger because all the dead stuff becomes fertilizer. I made the same mistake on my driveway last summer and ended up with moss growing through cracks I didn't even know existed. You gotta use something like a sodium chloride based cleaner or just physically scrape it off, otherwise you're basically feeding the problem. Bob probably still thinks his method works too because he never checks his roof.

Pour and pray" lol that's actually a perfect way to put it. Bob straight up told me "just dump it on and wait a week, it'll be fine." He didn't warn me about anything. I figured the bleach would just kill everything and that'd be the end of it. But nah, the moss came back thicker and greener than before. It's like the bleach just pissed it off and made it stronger. Now my whole roof looks like a freaking swamp.
