Please think twice before buying a $20 hose from the home improvement store

I bought a 50-foot rubber hose at the hardware store last week for $19.99. It kinked on day two, split open on day four, and soaked my whole basement floor from a tiny pinhole. Now I'm out twenty bucks and my basement carpet is ruined. I wish someone had told me to spend $50 on a proper reinforced hose. Has anyone else had a cheap hose blow up on them like this?

Wait, did you end up getting a better one or just a different brand? For me, switching to a mid-range one actually saved me money in the long run since it didn't crap out after a few months.
