The 40 dollar rice cooker I kept for 15 years finally died today
I bought this cheap little rice cooker from a grocery store in Austin back in 2009. It cost me forty bucks and I figured I'd get maybe a year or two out of it. Well it just smoked and quit on me while I was making dinner. I honestly got a little sad staring at it on the counter. That thing cooked hundreds of pounds of rice through three apartments and a cross country move. Now I gotta find a new one and I bet it wont last even half that long. Does anyone else hang onto kitchen gadgets way longer than they should?

My mom's old GE toaster from 1987 finally gave up last year and I nearly teared up.

Did you check if the thermal fuse just needs replacing?
