Vent: My old neighborhood diner got a QR code menu and lost all its charm

I stopped by Lou's Place on 7th Avenue this morning for breakfast like I used to do back in 2009. The place looked the same but instead of a greasy laminated menu they had a little plastic stand with a QR code. Nobody under 50 could figure out how to get the wifi to load it and the waitress looked annoyed explaining it for the 12th time. Anyone else miss when you could just point at a picture of pancakes and be done with it?

My local spot swapped their paper menus for QR codes last spring and three retired guys started bringing their own printed copies from home. The owner eventually put the old menus back just to keep the peace.

Three old guys really couldn't just download a free QR reader?
