Vent: That $60 'waterproof' phone pouch failed at the lake in 20 minutes

Bought one of those universal phone pouches at the bait shop on Lake Lanier this past Saturday, thought it was fine for a quick paddle. 20 minutes in, my iPhone X started fogging up inside and then the touch screen went totally dead after I pulled it out. Kept comparing it to my buddy's older dry bag we used last summer, which never had this issue. Has anyone else had those silicone seal pouches just give up like that or did I just get a defective one from the checkout rack?

I heard those silicone seals break down after a few uses in the sun, that plastic gets stiff fast.
