Can we talk about that fancy bread machine I bought last January?

I spent $150 on a Zojirushi bread machine because everyone online swore it was the best. Used it exactly three times. First loaf was okay, second was a brick, third tasted like bleach because I forgot to clean the paddle. Now it's sitting on my counter collecting dust for 8 months. Has anyone actually stuck with one of these things long term, or do they all end up as counter decorations?

My Zojirushi is in the basement right now next to the treadmill and the juicer. I used it maybe four times back in 2019. Third loaf came out with a weird greyish tint that I still can't explain. You said the third one tasted like bleach - did you ever figure out if it was the paddle coating or some cleaner you used? Because that's the kind of thing that makes me wonder if these machines are worth the space.

Bleach taste was definitely the paddle coating flaking off.
