My basil plant started drooping 2 days after I brought it home from the farmers market in Austin.

I figured out it was rootbound and the pot had no drainage, so I repotted it in a bigger container with holes punched in the bottom and gave it a good soak, and after 4 days it perked right back up has anyone else dealt with store bought herbs dying fast like that?

That's not really "dying fast" though. Four days is pretty normal for a plant to bounce back after being repotted and watered properly. The real issue was the lack of drainage, not some weird store curse.

I had the same thing happen with a peace lily from a big box store. It looked terrible for about five days after I repotted it, and I was sure I'd killed it. What finally turned it around was adding a layer of pebbles at the bottom of the pot for drainage and letting the soil dry out completely between watering. @jordang32 is right that four days isn't anything to worry about. After that, the leaves started perking up and it's been fine ever since. Sometimes they just need a minute to adjust.
