My boss told me I was "over-communicating" in emails and it totally changed how I write them now
I used to send these long emails with every single detail and bullet points. My boss pulled me aside last Tuesday and said people were just skimming them or skipping them entirely. Now I try to keep it to 3 sentences max with just what they need to make a decision. Has anyone else had to totally rethink how they communicate at work after getting that kind of feedback?

Man that's exactly what happened to me with my old boss and it threw me off for weeks!

My buddy got told the same thing at his old job... so he started sending one-liners like "Approved?" or "Thoughts?" and his boss complained he wasn't giving enough context. Couldn't win either way, poor guy just ended up writing everything in the subject line and leaving the body blank.

Haha, wait. He just put the whole message in the subject line? That's insane. I've never heard of someone actually doing that. Did his boss even read it or just get confused about the blank body? Honestly that's a power move though. Respect to your buddy for trying something that wild.
