My kid asked what would happen if we never turned off the kitchen light
He's six, and we were making breakfast when he pointed at the ceiling and asked if the bulb would just get brighter forever. I told him it would burn out, but then he asked how long that would take. I looked it up, and a standard 60-watt LED bulb in my kitchen could run for about 25,000 hours straight. That's almost three years. Has anyone ever actually run a light until it died, or do you always swap it out first?

My bathroom light has been on for like two years, but that's just me forgetting to turn it off. Maybe it's trying to set a record?

That garage light story is honestly impressive, cars don't even last that long anymore.
