My phone's camera went from blurry garbage to crystal clear after I stopped using third-party charging cables
I thought my iPhone lens was scratched for six months, then I swapped back to the Apple cable that came in the box and the autofocus started working PERFECTLY again. Has anyone else noticed their phone acting weird from cheap chargers?

Oh man, this is exactly the kind of dumb mistake I would make. I spent three months blaming Apple and complaining about my camera, only to realize I had been using a gas station charger the whole time. My husband still brings it up at dinner like it's some hilarious revelation about my technical skills. Guess I'm the type of person who would rather yell at a phone than check the obvious thing right in front of me.

Your husband still brings it up at dinner" is cracking me up because same here. But yeah, the cheap cable thing messes with more than just charging speeds. I had a third party cable that looked fine but it was sending dirty power into my phone, and the camera app would literally refuse to focus or it would keep flipping between lenses randomly. The fix that finally worked for me was buying an Anker cable that's MFi certified, it's a little more money but it has the Apple chip inside that talks to the phone right. Also if your phone still acts up after switching cables, restart it once, the software gets confused and stays stuck in a weird power saving mode until you force a full reboot.

Blame the cheap cables, they’re basically just wires without the proper shielding. I had a third party charger that made my screen go nuts with ghost touches until I swapped it out. The dirty power messes with the voltage regulators and screws up the camera sensors over time. Switching to an Anker cable solved it in two days.
