Showerthought: I was making my bed wrong for years and only found out from a hotel housekeeper

I always just pulled the flat sheet up and tucked it in, thinking that was fine. Last month, I stayed at a hotel in Austin and watched the housekeeper make the room next door. She did this thing where she folded the top of the sheet over the blanket to make a clean edge. I asked her about it, and she said it keeps everything neat and stops the blanket from touching your face. I tried it at home and my bed looks way better now. Has anyone else learned a simple home trick from watching a pro?

Wait, the blanket was touching your face before?" - wait, is that not normal? I've been doing the whole sheet-tucked-under-blanket thing for years and never thought about the blanket touching me. But now that you mention it, I've woken up with my face pressed against the comforter more times than I'd like to admit. So does that folded edge actually stay put, or does it just look nice for two seconds before you toss around at night?

My grandma used to put the whole comforter inside a duvet cover... I thought it was just for looks until I tried it. It really does keep the filling from bunching up in one corner.
