The no-name tool bag I cursed at for months ended up being my favorite
I bought this cheap canvas tool bag from a gas station near Scranton for 12 bucks cause I forgot my good one. First week the zipper stuck, handle felt flimsy, I was ready to toss it. But after 8 months of rain, mud, and getting thrown off a ladder it still holds everything. There's no padding or fancy pockets but somehow it works better than my 80 dollar bags ever did. Has anyone else found a piece of gear they hated until it proved itself?

Did that bag teach you anything about trusting cheap stuff over expensive gear?

Did you always trust cheap gear before this @xena373? I used to think price tags were just marketing hype until I had a cheap bag fail on me at the worst time. That one bad experience made me realize spending a little more upfront can save you a lot of hassle later.

Read an article once about how some of the best gear comes from companies that don't spend money on marketing or fancy packaging. They just make something that works and let it prove itself. Your bag sounds like a good example of that. A handle that stays on and a zipper that halfway works can beat a $80 bag with a broken buckle any day.
