TIL the $3 kitchen timer beats my $200 phone plan for baking

I kept burning my bread when I got glued to my phone. So I grabbed a cheap mechanical timer at the dollar store in Akron. Set it, walked away, no scroll trap. The ding is loud enough to hear from the yard. Has anyone else gone low-tech for one specific task and never looked back?
