Wasted $50 on a vegetable spiralizer that couldnt even handle a sweet potato

Bought a cheap spiralizer off Amazon last month thinking I'd make healthy zucchini noodles every night but the blade snapped on the second use and now it's sitting in my junk drawer, anyone else fall for kitchen gadgets that look way easier on TikTok?

@alicew68 that's wild, I actually just saw a recall notice for some spiralizers on the news the other day. Something about the blades coming loose during use. Heard it's been happening with a few brands lately, not just the cheap ones either. Hope Karen's cat is okay though, that sounds rough. Got a buddy whose dog got hit by a falling blender once, animals just have bad luck with kitchen gear I guess.

My uncle's parrot somehow got into the cabinet under his sink and knocked a mandoline slicer onto itself back in 2017. Thing landed right on its wing, sliced it up pretty bad. Had to take it to the vet in a shoebox and everything. Birds and kitchen gadgets don't mix at all, I swear they're drawn to the dangerous stuff.
